Advisory Committee

Hiraeth Hope & Healing is supported by an Advisory Committee that offers perspective, insight, and guidance informed by lived experience and professional background. Advisory committee members contribute through consultation, reflection, and collaboration, helping to inform the organization’s ongoing work.

Advisory committee members do not hold governance or fiduciary responsibility. Their role is consultative rather than directive, supporting thoughtful decision-making while honoring the organization’s mission, values, and commitments.

The Role of the Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee provides input on community needs, emerging themes, and considerations related to care, access, and inclusion. Members may offer feedback on programs, language, or practices, drawing on their experience and perspective.

Participation on the Advisory Committee is grounded in respect, listening, and mutual accountability. Members are invited to contribute in ways that align with their capacity and expertise, without expectation of uniform views or consensus.

Relationship to Leadership and Board

The Advisory Committee works in relationship with organizational leadership and the Board of Directors. While advisory input is valued and considered, decision-making authority remains with leadership and the board in accordance with nonprofit governance responsibilities.

This structure helps ensure clarity, transparency, and integrity in how guidance is offered and how decisions are made.

Committee Membership

Advisory committee membership may change over time in response to evolving needs and capacity. Members are invited based on alignment with the organization’s values and their ability to contribute thoughtfully to the work.
