Our Commitments
Hiraeth Hope & Healing is committed to holding spaces rooted in care, respect, and responsibility. These commitments guide how our gatherings and community spaces are shaped and how space is held within them.
Our work centers lived experience and respects the autonomy of each individual. Participation is always optional, with no expectation to share, explain, or engage beyond personal choice and pace.
Care and Consent
We are committed to environments where consent, choice, and self-direction are prioritized. Individuals are encouraged to listen to their own needs, set boundaries, and participate in ways that feel appropriate for them. Stepping back, resting, or observing quietly are always valid forms of participation.
Respect for Difference
We recognize that people arrive with different histories, identities, beliefs, and language. We do not require agreement or shared conclusions. Our commitment is to thoughtful listening and the ability to coexist without comparison or erasure.
Non-Clinical, Community-Based Spaces
Our gatherings are not therapy and are not a substitute for clinical care. They are peer-led, community-based spaces supported by facilitators with relevant lived experience. We aim to create environments that feel grounded, relational, and human rather than prescriptive or diagnostic.
Ongoing Responsibility
We understand that holding space carries responsibility. Our commitments are not static. They continue to evolve through reflection, feedback, and lived experience. We remain attentive to power, impact, and the care required when holding shared space.
