Book Club

Books have a way of helping us put words to experiences that can feel difficult to explain.

The Hiraeth Hope & Healing Book Club offers a welcoming space to read, reflect, and connect with others navigating origin loss, identity discovery, family disruption, grief, and healing.

Our selections span self-discovery and reflection, memoirs, nonfiction and historical perspectives, and fiction. Each book is thoughtfully chosen to encourage meaningful conversation and explore themes of identity, family, belonging, grief, resilience, and healing that may resonate with adopted individuals, NPEs, donor conceived people, late discovery adoptees, and those who support and love them.

Book Club is not about analyzing literature or having all the answers. It is an opportunity to learn together, share perspectives, and engage in meaningful conversations in a supportive, trauma-aware environment.

What to Expect

• One book explored over several weeks
• Weekly virtual discussions and reflection
• Thoughtful, guided conversation
• A welcoming space for varying perspectives and experiences
• Participation at your own pace
• Opportunities to engage with authors whenever possible
• A private Facebook group for ongoing discussion and connection between meetings

There is no pressure to finish every chapter on schedule, speak during every discussion, or participate in every meeting. You are welcome to engage in whatever way feels comfortable for you.

Whether you come for the books, the conversations, or the sense of community, we invite you to join us.

💙 Togetherness Heals.

Who Is Welcome?

Book Club is open to adopted individuals, NPEs, donor conceived people, late discovery adoptees, family members, professionals, and supportive allies.
